‘Charleston is closed,’ social media reacts to flooding with sense of humor

CHARLESTON (WCBD) – The internet has a response for everything and this time, social media is proving once again that they can respond to big events in a humorous way.

Many “memes” have been circulating on Facebook and Twitter referencing the Charleston Flooding event.

While this is a very serious situation for the Lowcountry, many agree, sometimes laughter is the best medicine and its a way to smile through the difficult times.

Maria Helms and her friends had some fun with the flooding and shared this video on facebook. They’re poking a little fun at “Titantic,” floating along to the blockbuster’s theme song, “My heart will go on.”
