National Action Network Rally to Ask for Justice for Shamir Palmer

Family members say Palmer was treated like an animal. They said officers didn't allow him to exit the car before they started shooting.

The National Action Network has announced that they will have a rally on Wednesday, September 30 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office at 212 Deming Way in Summerville.

They will be joined by the family of Shamir Terrell Palmer.

Palmer, 24, led the Highway Patrol on a high-speed chase through Dorchester County.

Authorities say Palmer fired shots at officers during a chase. Nisbet says when Palmer’s car was so damaged it couldn’t run that’s when Palmer got out and pointed his gun at officers.

Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet sent out a news release saying Shamir Palmer was hit by multiple bullets Saturday and died from a shot to the chest.
