Girl, 3, battling brain cancer now free from the disease

NASHVILLE, Tenn. —  In a News 2 update, we are happy to report  Katie Adams, a little girl battling brain cancer, is now cancer free.

We first told you about Katie back in February when her family started asking people to send her birthday cards to surprise her on her fourth birthday on March 8.

Katie was diagnosed with brain cancer last February. Since the diagnosis, she has undergone surgeries and chemotherapy.

“Our world was completely flipped upside down when this came about,” Katie’s mom Samantha Adams recalled.

“There’s so many people out there, especially in Nashville, that don’t even know us and have never even met Katie and are just out of the kindness of their heart getting a card,” Adams said.

Katie and her family live in Georgia. Her grandparent’s live in Nashville.

The small act of kindness brightens her day.

“It just puts a smile on her face, she loves it.”

According to her Facebook page, Katie went back to the doctor this week.
