Authorities search for tips following string of bomb threats at local high school

ST STEPHEN, SC — After numerous false bomb threats were called in to Timberland High School, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in identifying who’s responsible.

The most recent threat was made on Tuesday, September 15. The false calls not only are disruptive to the school, but also tie up the Sheriff’s deputies and the Fire Department equipment and personnel.

If you have any information as to who the person or persons are making these calls, call Crime Stoppers at (843)554-1111 or call toll free to 1-888-CRIME-SC.  You can also text 274637 and begin your text with the letters CSL. Tips may also be submitted by visiting the Crime Stoppers web site at All tipsters remain anonymous and you never have to give your name.

Tips that lead to the arrest of suspects are eligible for a cash reward of up to $500.
