Starting October 1, four of the Charleston County Parks will increase their daily admission rates.
James Island County Park, Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park, North Charleston Wannamaker County Park, and Caw Caw Interpretive Center will now charge $2 per person for entry.
Tom O’Rourke, Executive Director of the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission says this is the first time the park admission fee has changed since they started charging in 1979.
He says the rate change will help support the continued maintenance and safety of the parks.
If you already have a Gold Pass Membership, there is no admission rate change.
