Democratic Presidential Hopeful Bernie Sanders In South Carolina

Democratic Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders is in South Carolina this weekend for the second time, hoping to broaden his appeal with voters.
Polls show Sanders gaining support in Iowa and New Hampshire, but he plans to spend more time introducing himself to voters in South Carolina and other states where Hillary Clinton leads in the polls.
At the first of three stops in the Palmetto State, Sanders held a town hall event at Benedict College in Columbia, where he addressed topics such as racial inequality in America and voter suppression.

After his event in Columbia, the Senator will hold a town hall in Florence, South Carolina before closing out the day with a rally at Rock Hill’s Winthrop University.
