BERKELEY COUNTY, SC — News 2 has learned from the Berkeley County Coroner that the body of the missing commercial crabber was found on Wednesday, September 2.
The Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Jeffrey Tidwell, 51, of North Charleston.
Robert McCollough with the SC Department of Natural Resources says on Monday, August 31 at 5:40 pm, his agency received word of a unoccupied boat in the Cooper River near Bushy Park Boat Landing. DNR launch their search and found the boat with its engine was still running but the commercial crabber was no where to be found.
We’ve learned Tidwell’s body was spotted by a DNR plane and was recovered by Berkeley County Rescue Squad.
Tidwell would have been 52 years old on September 13.
