One80 Place held a ceremony to officially open the new SCE&G Family Center Playground on Tuesday, August 18th at 10 a.m.
SCE&G donated the new playground so that the children who stay in the shelter have a safe and secure place to play.
On July 21, a group of Charleston SCE&G employees from gas operations, electric operations and the call center held a workday to prepare the site at One80 Place for this new playground. Employee volunteers spent the day helping to relocate plants and trees, remove pavers, tear down part of an old railing, move a storage shelter and even out the ground so that playground equipment could be installed. The professional installation of the playground equipment was recently completed, and an SCE&G work crew will put the final touches on the playground. Many of the employee volunteers will also be on hand for the event.
