Lawsuit filed against Berkeley County after former assistant principal arrested for sex with student

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC – The parents of a Goose Creek High student, who accused the former assistant principal of inappropriate behavior, have filed suit against the school district.

In the lawsuit the family claims the district failed to report former assistant principal Paul Herman’s conduct to law enforcement or the superintendent.

Paul Herman resigned in February following his arrest on a charge of sexual battery with a student.

After Herman’s arrest the Berkeley County School District issued a statement stating it was fully cooperating with law enforcement in its investigation.
