Update: Authorities find missing woman last seen on Seabrook Island

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office says, they have found Lauren Helmer, the missing woman last seen on Seabrook Island. Major Eric Watson with the CCSO says, Helmer was “found unharmed and in good health.”

Authorities say on Thursday, August 6, family members of Lauren Helmer contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report her missing.  We’re told she’s described as a 26-year-old white female, 5’8, 140 lbs with hazel eyes and brown hair.

She was last seen of Wednesday night after 8:00pm on Seabrook Island.  We’re learning her shoes were discovered on Seabrook Island beach by beach patrol. Foul play isn’t suspected in her disappearance.

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, St. Johns Fire Department, City of Charleston Fire Department, Charleston County Search and Rescue, United States Coast Guard, SC Department of Natural Resources, Kiawah and Seabrook Island Beach Patrols were actively searching the nearby areas for her.
