Colleton County hosts 8th Annual Back-to-School Bash

COLLETON COUNTY, SC – The Colleton County School District and the Back-to-School Bash Committee will host the 8th Annual Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Colleton County High School gym from 9 a.m.-noon. The event will include distribution of free school supplies, free books, free prizes and lunch for Colleton County Public School students in grades K-12 who are accompanied by their parent or guardian.

Door prizes and give-a-ways will be awarded to help parents and students start a new school year poised for success. Colleges, local organizations, local businesses and health providers will be present to provide information and services to parents and children.

Donations from area businesses are still needed. Businesses that sponsor a whole grade level with a donation of $250 or more in funds or school supplies will be listed as sponsors of the event and receive recognition in various media; however, all donors will be recognized. Call 782-4522 for more information.

Visit the Back-to-School Bash webpage for a current list of all donors or to contribute. Contact Tangela Green, CCSD Parent Involvement Coordinator, at 782-4522, to arrange a contribution or for any other information.

“Last year nearly 900 students started the year with the required school supplies thanks to the generosity of local businesses. Over 1,000 people attended. We hope we can count on those businesses and new partners as we continue to serve Colleton County students and we hope to see a huge crowd at CCHS on August 8th!” Green said.
