A source has confirmed to News 2 that former Charleston County School District Superintendent, Dr. Nancy McGinley is a candidate for the top job at Berkeley County School District.
Dr. McGinley is one of four candidates that are expected to be interviewed by Berkeley County Thursday, July 23.
After seven years at the helm in Charleston County, McGinley resigned from the district in October after a scandal over racial accusations involving Academic Magnet High School’s football team.
Charleston County School Board Chairwoman Cindy Bohn Coats would not talk about McGinley.
Berkeley is looking to replace 48-year-old Rodney Thompson, who was indicted in April by the state grand jury on a misdemeanor ethics charge involving public corruption.
