On Monday, July 13, units with the Charleston, North Charleston, and Saint Andrews Fire Departments, Charleston Police Department, and Charleston County EMS were dispatched to a possible structure fire on Camelot Drive at 4:25 PM.
The first fire department units arrived on scene and encountered heavy fire conditions from multiple sides of the single family home. Fire personnel initially began to control the fire from the exterior of the structure due to the size of the fire. Fire damage extended from the carport, into the structure, and through the attic space. Fire personnel on scene confirmed that there were no occupants still in the structure.
Three residents were home at the time of the fire. A 17-year-old and 8-year-old suffered burn injuries and were transported to a local hospital. A third resident was transported, treated, and released.
Members of the Charleston Fire Department Fire Marshal Division responded to investigate the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
