This Fourth of July, snap off a salute to 50 stars, 13 stripes — and 150 million hot dogs. Here are some numbers to consider while you wait for the first fireworks to go off this weekend.

The United States of America will turn 239 on July 4, 2015.
1941 was the first year that Congress declared a Federal holiday to celebrate Independence Day.
1781 was the year Massachusetts declared July 4th a state holiday. It was the first state to do so.
56 men signed the Declaration of Independence.
150,000,000 hot dogs will be consumed on July 4th. That’s enough hot dogs to stretch from D.C. to L.A. five times.
