Suspect in Summerville murder surrenders to police

UPDATE:
SUMMERVILLE, SC –
Thomas Robert Shewtzuk surrendered to DCSO Detectives Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m.  He voluntarily walked into the office on Deming Way and surrendered without incident.

Shewtzuk was wanted on a Murder warrant from a June 13th 2015 shooting at 2703 Highway 17-A South (BP Quick Food Mart), Summerville that resulted in the death of the victim, Travis Gordon.

Bond hearing should be at 4 p.m. hours on Friday June 19.

ORIGINAL STORY:
One man is dead following a shooting at a Dorchester Road gas station on Saturday, June 13th.

Just before 10:00 A.M. on Saturday morning, deputies were called to the BP at Dorchester Road and Highway 17-A.

The shooting happened inside of the gas station, no employees were involved.

23-year-old Travis Aaron Gordon of Goose Creek passed away.

According to the Dorchester county coroner Christopher Nisbet, the shooting death was ruled a homicide. The autopsy showed Gordon was shot twice, but the fatal wound and cause of death, was to the head.

The shooting is under investigation by the Dorchester County Sheriffs department.
