Teen missing from Remley’s Point area found

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC – The Mount Pleasant Police Department says a teenager that went missing from the area of Remley’s Point has been located.

The Police Department made the announcement on its Twitter account.

Witnesses said Joseph R. McGregor jumped from a boat into the water and then swam ashore, Tuesday, June 16.

Witnesses then said they lost sight of the him and was unsure of his whereabouts.

In an incident report from the Mount Pleasant Police Department, it states that an officer was dispatched to 120 Wando Reach Court in reference to a report of someone drowning. A woman got the attention of the police officer and said she saw two teenagers walking down the street at the corner of Third St. and Third Ave. The officer then met with a worker who said that two men came running up from the docks saying that someone had drowned. Mount Pleasant Fire Department arrived at the scene and they located Joe McGregor. The exact location where McGregor was found was not released. The mobile crisis team evaluated McGregor at their headquarters and came to the conclusion that McGregor needed hospital level treatment.
