Summerville Police are searching for a man that allegedly attempted to abduct a teen girl.

It happened at Planters Retreat on May 29th. According to the report, it happened when a 14 year old girl was walking back to her apartment from the Speedway gas station.

As she was walking on the sidewalk headed north on Ladson road, she noticed a white work van with a ladder rack, but there was no contact made with the man sitting inside.

About 10 minutes later, the van had moved near her apartments rental office.

When she walked by, he rolled down the window and yelled something at her. The victim said no and kept walking.

At that point, according to the report, the man got out and grabbed her shirt but she got away and he chased her. She was able to get help and the suspect left the scene.

The victim was not hurt but her shirt was ripped.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’09” and 210lbs, a gray mustache, gray hair with a round face and glasses.

The victim said he had a raspy voice and his skin was wrinkled with freckles.

His vehicle was driving a white dirty work van with a “G” style logo on the left side of the window.
