An app allowing students in the Beaufort County School District to anonymously report bullying is getting mixed reviews.
The Beaufort Gazette reports the app was included on all tablet devices issued by the district at the start of the school year.
Since then the district has received more than 550 reports through the app called “See Something, Say Something.” Head of student services Gregory McCord considers it a success that the app is being used and is raising awareness of bullying.
But many of the reports are false.
The newspaper said several Hilton Head High students said they know of classmates using the app to get friends out of class or as a prank. When the app is used, administrators immediately call students out of class to investigate.
