North Charleston police are investigating a Sunday shooting death on Rivers Avenue near Alton Street.
“On scene officers located the male victim deceased as a result of gun fire. Witnesses state an argument between the victim and another person took place and a short time later a vehicle pulled up to the area and shots were fired striking the victim,” North Charleston police spokesperson Spencer Pryor said.
This is the second shooting in less than 24 hours in North Charleston.
Police are still investigating a Saturday night shooting in North Charleston.
Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch confirms that police responded to the West Montague Avenue, Ozark Street area about 8:30 Saturday night for shots fired.
“An officer in the area of West Montague Avenue near I-526 observed two male subjects running from the area. One of the males flagged down the officer and advised the other male had been shot. Officers then located a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee in the area wrecked against bushes with the driver door open, the ignition running and the vehicle in drive,” Pryor said.
“Both subjects were vague with information provided to police with the injured subject stating they were on the exit ramp of I-526 when a gray Camry type vehicle with dark tinted windows pulled up beside them and began firing. No further suspect information was provided. The victim was transported to MUSC with non-life threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation,”
