Authorities are investigating the death of a man reported missing from the Quinby Creek Boat Landing in Berkeley County.
According to the Berkeley County Coroner and Rescue Squad Chief Bill Salisbury, several agencies responded to the boat landing on Cainhoy Road around 8:20 a.m. Tuesday morning May 20.
Officials say a truck was found at the boat ramp with the engine still running. They also found a cell phone, wallet, shoes and a shirt on the dock.
The boat had floated down stream several hundred yards. Officlas say they found the body of 67 year old John Profit of Huger near the boat, shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The death is under investigation by the Coroner’s Office. No foul play is suspected.
