Faith, family, fellowship and fun all centered in the heart of historic downtown Charleston First Baptist School of Charleston offers academic excellence with a Christian perspective.  They’re our cool school of the week.

The day begins every friday here at First Baptist School with praise and worship at the chapel.  Head of the school Thomas Mullins says here at First Baptist School of Charleston k-2 through 12th grade students are challenged daily in a nurturing environment.

FBS offers college prep, honors, advanced placement, and dual credit courses in a small class size  setting.  In addition to strong academic programs which include foreign language and technology…

Students are proud of their fine arts program.. Which includes music, art, drama and dance.  Students display their many talents during regular assembly programs.

Fourth grade student Maddie Anderson shined in the starring role as Annie at the Dock Street Theater and she sings praises when it comes to her school.

First Baptist uses it’s prime location in the heart of downtown Charleston to it’s advantage.  Teachers take students out of the classroom to explore the historic Holy City on a regular basis.  Students are required to attend cultural events around town.

Students also have opportunities to travel abroad..  First Baptist holds several state championships: girls varsity swimming and golf., boys varsity basketball and baseball.

The school is currently building an athletic and performing arts complex on 62 acres on James Island. the complex is scheduled to be finished by next school year.
