The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating the disappearance of a Bluffton woman and her boyfriend.
47-year-old Margarito Elena Gonzalez-Almazan was reported missing by family members just before 8 p.m. Monday night. She was last seen at approximately 3 a.m. Sunday morning at the conclusion of family party she had hosted at the Shady Glen community center.
Family members advised that Gonzalez was last seen in the company of her boyfriend, 40-year-old Osman Galicia-Escobedo, who had been with her at the party, and was with her at her home when the last guests departed. Family members advised they had witnessed several arguments between the two in recent weeks, and that Galicia had a tendency to become aggressive when drinking.
After Gonzalez failed to make contact with her family and was unable to be reached by phone all day Sunday, family members became concerned. When she was not located at her home, family members checked Galicia's residence at Simmons Cay apartments. There, Galicia's roommates advised that he had not returned to the apartment since leaving Saturday evening.
No contact has been made with either Gonzalez or Galicia. Galicia is known to drive a grey 2001 4-door Dodge Stratus bearing SC license plate DMR 686, which has not been found.
Gonzalez is being considered a missing and endangered person as the circumstances of her disappearance are suspicious in nature. Galicia is being sought for questioning, being the last known person to have contact with her.
Gonzalez is a Hispanic female, approximately 5'02″, 130 lbs with shoulder length black hair. She was last seen wearing a green blouse, white pants, and a black bomber-style jacket with white lining.
The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of either Margarito Elena Gonzalez-Almazan or Osman Galicia-Escobedo to contact either Investigator Cpl. B. Cooler at 843-255-3423, Capt. B. Bromage at 843-816-8013, or Crimestoppers.
