The Lowcountry is making Veronica feel right at home with its beautiful architecture, gorgeous beaches, and delicious food!

At News 2 she has been given the opportunity to wake up early and give you the breakdown on developing stories in the southeast region, nationally, and abroad with Happening Right Now.

Prior to News 2 Veronica worked in El Paso, Texas. Among several stories she covered along the border, Veronica had a chance to report on El Paso Independent School District's cheating scandal, which landed the district's former superintendent in federal prison after hundreds of students were cheated of their education at Bowie High School. El Paso also gave her a chance to sharpen her Spanish speaking abilities and reconnect with family. Both her parents are from the borderland.

She is no stranger to this side of the country. Veronica attended Georgetown's Continuing Studies Program, interned at NBC4 and worked as a news aide at the Washington Post. During her time in Washington, D.C. she was fortunate to get taken under the wings of pioneering journalists Charlie Ericksen, of Hispanic Link and national correspondent Lori Montenegro of Telemundo, who went the extra-mile to kick-start her career.

Recently married, she is an army wife who loves hanging out at the beach, shopping at the commissary and couponing!

Veronica was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Alhambra.  She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

Please email Veronica any story ideas here.
