Two families are displaced after a structure fire in North Charleston Tuesday.

According to the North Charleston Fire Department, the fire occurred just before 11:30 a.m. in the 7600 block of East Oakridge Circle. 

First responders reported smoke coming from the back side of the duplex. Crews were able to contain the fire.

All residents were able to evacuate safely.  The American Red Cross will assist the families totaling 7 people.

No cause has been determined, and the fire remains under investigation.
