It's been a long, but rewarding day for us here in Paris…..
It was a free day for our Charleston tour group to roam this historic city. Some went to the big shopping area….imagine that. Some went and explore more of the museums, and some just got on the Metro and whenever and wherever we exited the train is where we started out excursions!
Proud to say our group conquered the Metro and made it back to the hotel safely….this was after a full day of walking!
We walked from the Louvre, to Notre Dame, along the Seine River, where we stopped off to see the famous bridge called the Bridge of Locks. It's a tradition to place a lock on the bridge, and then throw the key into the Seine River. Cara and I did just that. It's a symbol of committed love! It's quite the scene, with many couples doing the exact same thing while we were there. It will now be up to our kids to one day come to Paris, find the Bridge of Locks, and then find our lock! Good lock, or should I say luck!!!
From there, it was the hike to the Eiffel Tower, where we able to get some amazing pictures.
We then walked to the Arc de Triomph….and spent the rest of the day walking along the Champs Élysées…which was the place to be on a Friday afternoon in Paris!
It was a fantastic day getting to see this city up close and personal…yes, the feet and legs are tired, but it was worth it…
Tonight we head to the Eiffel Tower for a group dinner in the Restaurant there….stay tuned for pictures….
